Do this first
The quick route
- Lower the red drawbridge to reach the larger island.
- Find the Red Tower uphill from the blue Map Room entrance.
- Solve five qualifying puzzles and place their rewards on the tower roof.
- Carry the released key through the marked red key cutters.
- Insert the shaped key at the blue Map Room door.
- Take the folding map; entering the room unlocks Big View.
Map Room location
After crossing the drawbridge and looping back toward the hub, look for the large blue doorway built into the hillside. The Red Tower stands uphill to the left. The door is visible before you can open it, which is why many players think the map is available immediately.
How to get the Red Tower key
Complete five puzzles associated with the Red Tower region and place their red rewards into the slots on its roof. Take the released key to the first cutter near the Map Room and follow the marked cutter sequence until the shape is complete.
Which map should you carry?
The large map stays in the room and shows far more of the island. The smaller folding map can travel with the group and includes the coordinate grid needed for searches such as 4166 / 1899. Keep a compass or GPS with the map when navigating long distances.
